2. Using LDS Clipart During Religious Studies You may currently be paying $12.00 for an unmounted, mass produced stamp in the shops, buying the same size stamp direct from a rubber stamp manufacturer will be about $9.00 and be custom made for you! PowerPoint presentations. Adding a few Christmas Clipart images or other holiday images could really spice up a PowerPoint during that time of year.
Christmas day is magical, but we often forget what makes it so great. All month long you have been getting invitations and fliers to parties, dinners, and gift exchanges in your neighborhood. What did all of these fliers look like? Were they plain white paper with size 12 font, Times New Roman? No, of course not! They were exciting with unique fonts and loaded with Christmas clipart! These Santa graphics spice up the holiday season like you can't believe! Clip art illustrates virtually every medium in the modern graphic arts. Whether paid or free, clip art has become the stock in trade of both amateur and professional desktop publishing. Originally, clip art received its name from the production process. Design teams would build scale models of a given layout as a "paste up"-that is, a larger version of the layout that would eventually be printed. The team photographed the paste up and used the negative to create the actual printing plate; however, previous to this, the paste up needed some pasting up. That is where the clip art came in. I take the clipart and then print it out in various sizes for how I want to use it. I can drop it off at the cake decorator's so that she can make me a cake with that pattern. Then, I email a copy to my husband's work so that he can print out a few copies in a larger format. These become cut outs that I place on the walls... almost like a logo. Your friend usually doesn't take advantage of you. If he did, you'd probably drop-kick his game console during the night or something (he might be your roommate, after all). That at least keeps him on his toes-or the edge of his rolling office seat-but he still lets your work slide behind the other work. He comes in first, his customers second, and you, his friend, come in third. You might think that free clipart is a cop-out. If you have the graphic design friend, after all, he can probably get you some pretty sweet free graphics (or design them at least for cheap). We're here to say, though, that your friend-wonderful, potato-chip-consuming guy that he is-does not prevent you from using free clipart as a viable design tool.
Don't have a friend or relative draw or design it for you. Just because someone is artistically inclined or has a good eye for design, doesn't put them in the same category as a professional cartoonist. Cartooning is a very specialized field - a talent that is honed over many years of trial, error and experimentation. You may have an idea of what you want, but executing it on paper is harder than most people think. It takes a professional. If the graphic is a vector image, it will be a snap to edit. Open the clipart image in your graphics editing program, select the area you don't want, and hit delete. It's that simple. However, bitmap images pose more of a challenge. You'll have to use the eraser tool and manually delete parts of the image. Or if you want to delete a section of solid color, you can use the magnetic lasso tool and press delete. By following a few simple guidelines you can save money by creating rubber stamp artwork that a stamp manufacturer can download without any design input; stamp manufacturers love it when artwork arrives that is 'ready' for production. Cut green and red construction paper into thin strips. Search for used Gift Wrap so you can recycle those. You can decorate the strips with glitter glue and Christmas writing.
